KITCHEN LAB

|Ages: 10+|

More independence.
Bigger skills. Real cooking.

Kitchen Lab is designed for growing cooks ready to take on more in the kitchen. Students work hands-on from start to finish—building practical cooking skills, trying new techniques, and gaining the confidence to make real food on their own.

Classes move beyond the basics with recipes and techniques that challenge students while still keeping the experience fun, social, and approachable.

No previous cooking experience required—just a willingness to jump in and cook.

In the Kitchen, we will practice…

Safe, confident use of kitchen tools.

Understanding how ingredients become a finished dish.

Sauteing, roasting, baking, boiling & more.

Meals, snacks, breads, sauces and dishes they can make again.

Reading recipes, organizing, timing, and problem solving.

Stainless steel mixing bowls, measuring cups, and a silicone spatula arranged on a table with the logo of Té Gner Mill, a teaching kitchen, printed on the table surface.

THE GOAL?

A kid that knows their way around the kitchen.

Kitchen Lab isn’t about making one perfect recipe. It’s about building the skills and confidence to cook again at home - without needing an adult to walk through every step.

Is Kitchen Lab right for my child?

Kitchen Lab is designed for ages 10+ and is a great next step for kids ready for more independence in the kitchen.

Students ages 10–12 are welcome in both Kids in the Kitchen and Kitchen Lab. Kids in the Kitchen offers a more guided experience, while Kitchen Lab introduces greater independence, new techniques, and more challenging recipes.

No previous cooking experience is required. If your child is curious, ready to participate, and excited to cook, they’ll fit right in.
